Netflix Original Series Coming Straight to Your Laptop

With springtime quickly trickling in, Netflix is bringing showers of comedy, action and romance to laptop screens. Get ready to binge through spring with this list of a few new Netflix original shows that will be premiering soon.

Fuller House: In “Fuller House,” the adventures that began in 1987 on “Full House” continue, with a now grown up veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller adjusting to life after being recently widowed. D.J.’s younger sister and aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner and D.J.’s lifelong best friend Kimmy Gibbler (now a fellow single mother), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona, all move in to help take care of D.J.’s three boys — the rebellious 12-year-old Jackson, neurotic seven-year-old Max and newborn baby, Tommy Jr. The show follows the gang’s adventures in San Francisco.

Premier Date: Feb. 26

Flaked: The show revolves around Chip, a self-help guru who has built a business out of his own lies. In this comedy series, Chip struggles to keep a step ahead of his own lies but his plans may be comprised as he begins to fall for his best friend’s girl. The show will star Will Arnett and will be developed by him along with “Arrested Development” creator and executive producer Mitch Hurwitz.

Premier Date: March 11

The Ranch: Set in a present-day ranch in Colorado, the show focuses on Colt, who returns home after a brief and failed semi-pro football career. With older brother Jameson “Rooster” and father Beau, whom he has not seen in 15 years, he helps to run the family ranching business. This multi-camera comedy series stars Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Sam Elliott and Debra Winger.

Premier Date: April 1

Marseille: As the municipal elections approach in Marseille, Robert Taro, the city’s Mayor for the last 20 years, prepares his last coup: push through the vote for the construction of a casino in the historic center of the Marina. Every move has been carefully played and the Mayor’s successor, Lucas Barrès, is already designated. However, the latter’s ambition and the secret interests of the city’s leaders, regardless of their backgrounds, impede the Mayor’s plans. The race for mayor becomes a no holds barred power struggle. The only question remains is how far the town will be willing to go. The series is the first French original production for Netflix.

Premier Date: May 5

Stranger Things: After a young boy seems to vanish into thin air, his friends, family and local police search for answers. With the community on lookout, they begin to investigate an extraordinary mystery involving top secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. The show is set in the 1980s and will star Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Matthew Modine. Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer are writing, directing and showrunning the series and will serve as executive producers with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen.
