Students in fashion design class had the opportunity to travel to New York City. The trip to the northeast lasted from April 25 to 29.

During the course of their trip, students participated in activities surrounding the fashion industry like visiting the tenement museums, Hat Shop, FIT museum and Museum of Art Design. These activities incorporated both the history and evolution of fashion and on a wider scale of art.

Thirteen seniors participated in this trip to New York City and their teacher Jodi Miller accompanied them. For 12 years, Miller has accompanied her students on this New York City. The seniors who went on this trip have taken fashion for two years with Miller, resulting in a close student-teacher bond. Miller graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in fashion and started working at Plano West when she heard of an opening from her fashion design teacher at Plano Senior High School.
