Frisco Reedy Drops Plano West 46-14 in Season Opener

Plano West suffered a loss in their first game of the 2018 football season, losing to Frisco Reedy 46-14 last Friday night at Clark Stadium.

Reedy, which is the ninth best 5A team in the state, ran for 217 yards and threw for 180 for a combined total of 397. West had a total of 195 yards (177 passing, 18 rushing).

Plano West wide receiver Cole Carter reeled in a 74-yard touchdown in the first quarter for the Wolves, and running back Jacob Stephens rushed for a 23-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Stephens rushed for a total of 31 yards, Noah Scroggins rushed for 27, and Nelson Johnson ran for 13.

On West’s receiving end, Leon Green racked up 82 receiving yards, Carter had 74, and Tavarius Garland had 13.

In the pocket, juniors Danny Davis and Will Cannon split time taking snaps. Davis threw for 152 yards and one touchdown with 5 completions, and Cannon added 25 yards.
